Since 1999, Snowchange has worked with various Eastern Sámi communities in Finland and in Murmansk, Russia. Since 2009 the cooperation has been done together with the Eastern Sámi cultural organisation Sámi Nue’tt. Sámi Council is a part of the work through the written agreements between them and the Snowchange Co-op, signed in 2009.

In August 2021, a regional report on climate change, microplastics and Sámi communities was released. It is here. In 2022 two reports on mercury were released, on Ponoi, see here and State of the Total Environment.

In 2016, a major traditional knowledge document, the ‘Life in the Cyclic World‘, was released. It contains summaries of the community work with the Sámi from 2000 to 2016.

Feel free to explore the Sámi work from the links below. Snowchange also works with various other Sámi groups. Click on the ‘Other regions’ to learn more.
